2010: BBC Radio 3’s The Haunted Moustache
I’d been performing a monologue about Ambrose Oddfellow and his moustache and managed to persuade Radio 3 to turn the story into a sound journey. We wove in some of Oddfellows songs from the first three releases, attended a séance and spent time with former Dali model, Drako Zarhazar, who first appeared in our film, The Ballad of Oddfellow. We were even planning to record a live ayahuasca ceremony but it finally proved too difficult for legal reasons.
The Haunted Moustache was finally broadcast in March 2010 and was very well received. The following summer it won a silver Sony Award for ‘best radio feature’. Not bad for my first foray into radio…
