2002: Put the Bird to Sleep
Our first single, after signing up to Pickled Egg Records. Quite a departure from my noisy old guitar band and those hazy days in New York with the fabulous Shimmy Disc label.
Things had been going well back then; we played a few gigs with Low, toured with Kramer and Dogbowl then Kramer got wrapped up in a lawsuit with Ann Magnuson and the whole Bongwater debacle and our record sunk without a trace.
I quit the band, joined the merchant navy for two years, spent a year with a Danish cult, came home, bought a piano and created Oddfellows. It seemed a natural thing to do.
